Life is Precious

We need to think about care of our planet twenty four seven. Make 24th July A World Day easily remembered.

The title is an instruction and a demand... ‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven’ Day

Urgent!

WHY THE YEAR COMMENCING 24 – 7 - 24 TO 24 – 7 – 25 IS SO IMPORTANT TO HUMANITY.

The symptoms of global warming are gathering pace. Average world temperature rise is increasing. CO2 levels in the atmosphere due to human activity and lifestyle are thought by most people and scientists to be the primary cause.
A World Day for everyone to learn about the subject and help solve it, is therefore of paramount importance.
Understanding our role in the changes is vital for our future survival and management of sustaining life on our amazing planet, our Earth.

'PROTECT OUR PLANET, 24/7' World Day on 24th July, 2024 is essential to our future survival.
Launched on 24 - 7 - 23  in preparation for the ONLY date that works both ways, 24 - 7 - 24, so ALL ACROSS THE PLANET can know when it is!

24 - 7 - 24 IS THE DAY, when we ALL, as humanity, have to come together and learn how to save the planet!

Extinction Rebellion are RIGHT ! We have little time to survive. We are sleep walking into oblivion and our Governments do little to stop it! Why? It is because BIG OIL has too much sway still and society worldwide is in turmoil at EXACTLY the precise moment we need to ALL be focused on getting Carbon back into the ground again.
The UK has a General Election looming in 2024.
That elected Government HAS TO react fast.
We pass the safe (UN stated) 1.5 degree Celsius rise in average global temperature in 2027. If it doesn’t come down after then, WE COOK, simple as that!

Mass demonstrations take too long to organise and last a day or more, are easily ignored and after so much effort and resources wasted by those organisations and individuals who really care!
MICRO-DEMONSTRATIONS WORLDWIDE, CO-ORDINATED, CARBON FREE, FINANCIALLY FREE, RESOURCE FREE ARE NEEDED.
MICRO-DEMONSTRATIONS THAT ARE HIGHLY VISIBLE, CONTINOUS, NON-DISRUPTIVE, NON-DAMAGING AND AT POINTS EASILY RECOGNISABLE AND MESSAGE BEARING GLOBALLY.
THEY START IN THE UK 24 – 7 – 24.
WE NEED THEM GLOBALLY BY 24 – 7 – 25.
A date we NEED human unity, IF we are to survive. Simple as that!

Does it matter if you get involved in the MICRO-DEMONSTRATIONS STARTING 24 – 7 – 24? YOU BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR AND LIFE IT DOES!
Tell everyone whom you know. Get involved. We need to build momentum in the UK and worldwide. It starts 24 – 7 – 24 at a TRAFFIC LIGHT NEAR YOU !

‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven’ Day

‘Protect our planet’ day - is a concept that brings together the conservation, campaign and action groups on climate change and sustainability, under one roof and allows the general public to make sensible, rational decisions about how they can alter their lifestyle to help tackle the problem of climate change induced by human activity.

  • It will help enable us to reach a more peaceful, sustainable and caring world.
  • By being locally based and accessible, the events embrace community.

This will be an educational day on human induced climate change and habitat destruction (HICC + HD).

Many things to see and do and get involved in on the day (which is a Wednesday this year.

Adopt A Trafficlight

On ‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven’ Day, 24th July 2024, it is a day to ‘Adopt’ a local traffic light, near to you. Part of your local community so you won’t damage nor disrupt it, but, let it flash out our message and demand of hope for the future, repeatable everywhere across the globe, to show our strength and care.

Since we are constantly in human society being bombarded with messages to consume, consume, consume; we need a counter message, constantly reminding us to ‘protect our planet, twenty-four seven’. We do that by transforming our local traffic light, by ‘adopting’ them, into a flashing instruction of hope. (red) “Stop!”, (amber)”Think”, (green) “Green planet”.

How do we ‘adopt’ a traffic light? By leaving a wild or cultivated flower at your local lights and by tying a ribbon of any colour to a post, with your written message on it if you wish.

On ‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven ‘Day we should also ‘Pick-a-pledge'. This is something we pledge to do that will help reduce damage to our Earth’s fragile environment. Suggested ‘ Pick-a-Pledge' examples will be published before the date of 24th July 2024.

By ‘Adopting’ our local traffic lights we are sending a clear visual message to our political, financial and corporate leaders, to act now on human induced climate change and habitat destruction (HICC + HD). Our demand for URGENT action before irreversible damaging change happens.

Isn’t this a protest or demonstration? Well, yes it is! It’s our human right. This ‘micro’ demonstration though has very low carbon footprint, is undamaging and non-disruptive in a caring way. Yet it is highly visible, powerful in message and is repeatable, simply and free to all, across the globe, in the places where fossil fuel and its damage is greatest!

A clear message to our leaders to act decisively, for the good of all and to protect the fragile environment of our life supporting planetary home, our Earth.

Micro-Demonstrations

What to do on the day

These are designed to build momentum. They act like a visual voice, showing a growing concern, by the public, about the climate crisis, to give the politicians and global leaders greater confidence to act quickly and robustly.

On the day (July 24th) and bi-monthly...

Micro-Demonstrations - Date and Theme (suggested main ribbon colours):

  •  - Air (bubbles) and pastel ribbons.
  •  - UK Climate & Ecology Bill and National Colours for ribbons (UK= red, white & blue).
  •  - Ice and white/blue ribbons.
  •  - Forests and soil, green and brown ribbons.
  •  - Water/Ocean and blue ribbons.

All these demonstrations are themed to highlight the different aspects of nature we need to save.

PROTECT OUR PLANET 24/7 Day

‘Humankind will inherit the stars, but, first we must learn how to look after
our humble beginning, our fragile Earth.’

Join us to promote this day and its sentiment

It is clear that we need to be caring for the planet that supports us, twenty four seven, i.e. at all times. That is why we call for 24th July annually to be ‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven’ Day. This is because we need to think about protecting life as we know it on our fragile life supporting world twenty four seven. A date that is easy to remember, 24th July every year. We take our world for granted, but, it needs loving care, just like us! The date is not only memorable, it is instructive!

NON-DISRUPTIVE, NON-DAMAGING, CARBON ZERO MICRO-PROTESTS

We have a year to save the planet!
From ‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven’ Day on 24th July 2024 (24 - 7 – 24) to ‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven’ Day on 24th July 2025 (24 – 7 – 25), we need to build the momentum to force our leaders and decision makers to act effectively in time to save life as we know it on this beautiful yet fragile planet of ours’
We need everyone that cares, joined together, simply and free. That is what i4one does on this subject. It is unique.
The NON-DISRUPTIVE, NON- DAMAGING micro-protests by ‘adopting’ your local traffic lights do that too. To speak out for you with their clear ‘adopted’ flashing message.
‘Adopting’ a traffic lights or pelican crossing couldn’t be easier, in a non-damaging, non-disruptive way. All you need to do is place a wild or cultivated flower at its pole base, in memorial of life species already lost by human actions, and/or tie a ribbon, of any colour of your choice to celebrate life, to the post so as not to impair its traffic function. You may want to write a message to our leaders on your ribbon in indelible ink too.
Over the year, more and more lights will be ‘adopted’, flashing out their clear message. Constant and unavoidable, telling our political, corporate and financial leaders and decision makers that this is the moment, the year, when effective action to reverse human induced climate change and habitat destruction (HICC+HD) must begin.
Unlike traditional protests, these ones are local and cared for by concerned local people speaking with one voice, repeatable across the globe in exactly the places where fossil fuel use is strongest. Unlike traditional big marches they flash their message continuously, not fade away into the night, indeed their message is even brighter at night!! They are simple enough for everyone that cares for this amazing planet of ours to be able to show their support for it and send a repeatable message across the globe to our leaders everywhere. Encourage others who care for a future to join in. WE HAVE A YEAR, starting on the first ‘Protect our planet, twenty-four seven’ Day 24-7-24 and the second on 24-7-25.
Join in and encourage all others that you know and love to do likewise. We can all do this simply and in a non-hypocritical way.

REMEMBER THE ‘ADOPTION’ OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND PELICAN CROSSINGS BEGINS ON THE FIRST ‘PROTECT OUR PLANET, TWENTY-FOUR SEVEN’ DAY ON 24/7/24.

WHAT WE ARE ABOUT

Life on Earth will not survive unless we get it into our mind-set to think about the planet 24/7.

We are the dominant species on the planet. We are part of the rich tapestry of life in a beautiful and fragile world.

We need to be thinking about, energy, water, waste, pollution, leisure pursuits, fellow humans, fellow creatures, land, sea and air. It’s down to us, all of us, as individuals and as collective groups.

We need to think about our planet, our world, 24 seven and then we have the chance to survive.

Peace, love and care not just on 24th July, but every day, 24/7.

When we are at our best we are loving, caring, inventive and resourceful. Let’s use these qualities to build a sustainable future for our generations to come.

Join us and join in on 24th July and make a commitment, join in pick-a-pledge to reduce your carbon impact.

Join in the "micro demos" by adopting a local traffic light, no disruption, no damage, no carbon!

On 24th July, help celebrate life on Earth in all its splendour and diversification.

Today could be a day to think about our Carbon Footprint.   (footprint.wwf.org.uk,  www.myclimate.org,   www.rainforestconcern.org)

Today we could think of where our energy actually comes from and could we provide it less harmfully and more sustainable (www.cat.org.uk,  www.edenproject.com)
But the point about today is to highlight that we need to be thinking about these things 24/7, not just today!
